User-supplied unit rates — not UK construction benchmarks.

Area × unit rate
Estimate a project total from area and a rate you already have (quote, invoice, or your own assumption).
You supply area or capacity and a unit rate. Display currency follows the pilot locale. US DOE/REMDB tables are not treated as local prices.
Method
This page multiplies an area you already measured by a unit rate you already have — a quote, invoice, or your own assumption. It does not publish UK construction prices.
Enter area in the same unit as the rate (m² with £/m², or sq ft with £/sq ft). Optional waste (0–0.4) grows the area first. Optional regional factor (0.5–2.5) scales the money total only if you choose to apply one.
Base = size × unit rate. Optional waste multiplies size first. Optional regional factor multiplies the money total.
100 units at £12.50 with 10% waste
Area 100, rate 12.5, waste 0.1, regional factor 1. Adjusted size 110. Total 1,375 in this locale’s currency format.
100 × (1 + 0.1) × 12.5 × 1 = £1,375.00
Result
The total is your arithmetic, shown in pounds because this locale formats currency as GBP. That is display formatting, not a Bank of England conversion and not a market survey.
Use it to check a decorator or flooring takeoff when you already trust the rate. If you do not have a rate, get a local quote instead of inventing one here.
Assumptions
- No local building-code or incentive database is applied.
- Keep area and rate units consistent (m² with £/m², or sq ft with £/sq ft).
- Waste or regional multipliers are optional user factors, not local law.
Questions
Is this a UK cost guide?
No. It multiplies your inputs. Certified US canary pages remain separate and US-scoped.
Are solar incentives included?
No. Enter a net rate yourself if you want incentives reflected.
Limitations
- Not a UK building-cost index.
- Waste and regional factors are optional user knobs, not law.
- Display pounds do not convert US certified benchmarks.
No UK price table is cited. Certified US DOE/REMDB guides on this site stay in US dollars and are not converted.
